Republic School District Names New Intermediate School Principal

The Republic R-III Board of Education named Chris Stallings as Principal of Republic Intermediate School, effective July 1, 2024.

The Republic R-III Board of Education announced in April 2024 that Chris Stallings would serve as the new Principal of Republic Intermediate School, beginning July 1, 2024.

Stallings brings extensive experience in elementary and intermediate education to the role, having previously served in leadership positions within the Springfield-area school system. His appointment was part of a broader leadership transition within the district for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Republic Intermediate School serves students in grades four and five, bridging the gap between the district's elementary campuses and Republic Middle School. The school is part of the Republic R-III School District, which educates more than 4,500 students across the city.

Superintendent Dr. Vern Minor expressed confidence in the new appointment, noting that Stallings' background in instructional leadership and community engagement aligned well with the district's strategic priorities.

The Republic School District continues to be recognized as one of the stronger performing districts in the Springfield Metropolitan Area, with competitive academic outcomes and a robust extracurricular program.
